Project Overview
-
The challenge was to design a visual identity that reflects both the complexity and the hopeful mission of the organization in a meaningful and impactful way.
-
The Children’s Law Center (CLC), a non-profit dedicated to advocating for the rights of children and families in D.C., approached us to create a new visual identity for their annual fundraising event, “Helping Children Soar.” CLC works with pro-bono attorneys to address urgent issues facing children today and improve systemic conditions for their future.

My Contribution
Created a tailored estimate and timeline for our client and ensured that all project milestones were met on schedule and within budget constraints, carefully balancing the project's needs with available resources.
Proactively communicated with the printer to streamline processes and provide technical support, addressing any issues that arose and ensuring that the final output met our quality standards.
“Thank you! And I will say our Executive Director Judith has said this might be our best piece yet – really blending the individual + complex work we do in a simple, compelling way.”
Key Challenge
Situation
As a non-profit organization, our client was operating under a tight budget.
Task
As CLC’s long-term design partner, I was tasked with collaborating with the Art Director to develop a cost-effective estimate that adhered to the client’s budget and timeline.
Action
By benchmarking with similar projects and consulting our team, I worked with our Art Director to create an estimate that fit our client’s budget.
Result
We successfully delivered the project on time and within budget, meeting all of the client's requirements and expectations.
Key Actions
-
To maximize efficiency and control costs, I assembled a team of designers who were already familiar with the CLC and their previous work. This strategic choice reduced ramp-up time and leveraged existing expertise.
-
I focused on streamlining the refinement phase, which is typically time-intensive and prone to scope creep. To mitigate these risks, I implemented a process where the client provided consolidated feedback, which helped to avoid unnecessary revisions and ensure timely progress.
-
I ensured precise and consistent communication between the client and our team, maintaining alignment throughout the project. By presenting mock-ups for client review, I facilitated informed decision-making and ensured clarity on the final deliverables.
